Thank you for that trip down memory lane. I started to tear up just thinking about the experience. It really opened up my eyes to the fact that there is so much more to the world than our tiny box that we live in and that there are people out there that do care about what God gave us to steward.I’m grateful for the beautiful people I met on that trip and the memories we can cherish for the rest of our lives! Thank you for sharing your thoughts. Linda
Thanks, Linda! Great to hear from you, hope you are doing well.
Thank you for capturing how it felt there. I was fortunate enough to go in October. I have to say, for my first trip anywhere, it was one for the books. I find myself daydreaming about a return trip.
Thanks, Andrea. So glad you got to go too.!
This sounds so wonderful. A transformation. I hope to experience this one day, I have added Finca Luna Nueva to my list of travel spots. Your wonderful writing style transported me into your experience, I was quickly snapped back when I read “…caterpillars that emit cyanide…” :O
Thank you for sharing.
LOL, yes those caterpillars are brightly marked, thank goodness, or we’d all be goners! Thanks for your praise, it means a lot.
OK, I will never again delete the ‘MOM’s ad’ without reading it first. What a great piece! It put me right there. Thank you!
Of all the newslettes that come to my inbox it is about the only one I read regularly. Always a good read, I learn.

Wow, I appreciate that so much!
I’m totally ready to go…below-zero weather already here in the Inland Northwest isn’t even why. It’s the irresistible descriptions of exotic smells, sights, sounds. I think one can truly find oneself in foreign places that force/invite one to redefine and reinvent oneself. Shed the not so great parts and discover or try on new great skills and ways to be. Some of them are bound to be keepers. Don’t know why this is so difficult in familiar surroundings, but Costa Rica sounds like a fantastic place to shed old skin and come back all shiny and new!
PS-Leave that poor sloth alone – she was making her once a week, ground level potty break! How embarrassing to have the groupies find her there! I wonder if sloths have a good sense of humor?
